Emergency Vehicle Response

Emergency Vehicle Response systems allow the driver of an emergency vehicle to control the traffic signal at an intersection that the vehicle is approaching.

Systems work in various ways, but the basic idea is that a coded message is sent from the emergency vehicle to the traffic signal controller cabinet. This message tells the controller which lanes of the intersection should receive a green light.
